Ragnhild Sollund

Ragnhild Sollund is Professor of criminology at the University of Oslo, Dept. of Criminology and Sociology of Law, since 2010, following positions as research fellow at Institute for Social Research and research Professor at NOVA (Norwegian Social Research). Her main research fields have been labour and refugee migration, police racial profiling, and green criminology. The last fifteen years she has focused on wildlife conservation and wildlife management, species justice and animal abuse, particularly related to wildlife trafficking. She has published (authored and edited) 18 books, 42 journal articles and 56 book chapters, for publishers such as Oxford University Press, Palgrave, Bristol University Press, British Journal of Criminology and Critical Criminology. She has served as guest editor for various journals, such as Theoretical Criminology. International Journal for crime, Justice and Social Democracy and Critical Criminology, and is on the advisory board for a number of journals. She has received the Lifetime achievement award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division of Critical Criminology and Social Justice (2021), the Energy Globe Award (2015) and The Outstanding Academic Title Award (2016) from the American Library Association for the book: Green harms and crimes. Critical criminology in a changing world. Palgrave MacMillan. She is member of the Policy Committee of The American Society of Criminology (2025-2027).
