In April 2025, David Struthers from the ITU EnJustice team took an initial research trip to southern Greenland. He travelled through
Narsarsuaq to Narsaq and with the expected transportation hiccups arrived at his final destination. Narsaq has been a focal point of local environmental organizing due to its proximity to significant rare earth ore and uranium deposits. The controversial mining project pushed by Energy Transition Minerals is currently being litigated in Danish courts after a 2021 change in Greenlandic laws.
