Aurelija Baltikauskaitė

Aurelija Baltikauskaitė is Head of the Human Rights Division at the Seimas Ombudspersons’ Office of Lithuania. The division’s functions include national human-rights monitoring; oversight of places of deprivation of liberty; implementation of National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) functions—human-rights education, monitoring, in-depth investigations into systemic human-rights issues; and representation before UN and Council of Europe bodies. Previously she headed the Ministry of Justice’s International Cooperation and Human Rights Policy Group. Project experience includes mapping Lithuania’s human-rights system and developing CRPD monitoring methodology for Serbia. She is a PhD candidate at Mykolas Romeris University and holds an LL.M. from Vilnius University.
